Job summary

United Way of McPherson County (UWMC) seeks an Executive Director to provide visionary and strategic leadership for the organization serving McPherson County. The role partners with an active Board to advance mission and impact, guiding fundraising, communications, and program direction with fiscal stewardship.

The successful candidate will demonstrate integrity, strategic thinking, and strong community relationships, with experience in nonprofit governance, operations, and finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, finance or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in non-profit or relevant environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online.
• Graduate education or leadership experience in non-profit mgmt is a plus; strong community ties valued.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Board to execute a multi-year strategic plan.
• Lead fundraising, communications and donor engagement initiatives.
• Manage operations, finances, and compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate governance, board meetings and leadership transitions.
• Build partnerships with local agencies and United Ways.
