Job summary

Globalstar seeks a Director of Network Technologies to serve as the chief architect for network design and strategy. You will set multi-year roadmaps, chair design reviews, and own technical standards, ensuring the network is buildable and operable by engineering teams.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance to meet ITAR/EAR and SOC 2 requirements, and you will mentor senior engineers while influencing vendor strategy and budget decisions.

Qualifications

• Senior architect-level design authority with multi-year roadmaps.
• CCIE certification required; deep expertise in enterprise-scale networks.
• Experience with EVPN/VXLAN data centers and modern spine/leaf designs.
• SD-WAN/SASE platforms and cloud interconnects (Equinix Fabric, AWS Direct Connect).
• Ability to translate design decisions into business terms and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as final technical decision authority for WAN, LAN, data center, cloud interconnect, and network security edge.
• Chair network design reviews and approve standard architectures and golden configurations.
• Own multi-year architecture roadmap and technology selection.
• Lead with authority through expertise, coordinating with cybersecurity and legal as needed.
• Own observability architecture (Kentik) and capacity planning to support SLAs.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex incidents and drive post-incident reviews.
• Represent architecture to executives, auditors, and customers and translate risk into business terms.
• Ensure designs meet NIST 800-171, SOC 2, ITAR/EAR requirements in collaboration with compliance.
• Lead network workstreams for corporate initiatives, due diligence, and third-party assessments.
• Influence vendor strategy and roadmap; participate in budget and contract decisions.
