Job summary

GRID Networks is seeking a Chief Mobile Technology Officer to lead our mobile team and own the mobile network end to end, including architecture, vendor strategy, deployment, and daily operations.

You will guide signaling, voice, SMS, data services, international roaming, and commercial operator agreements while directing a distributed engineering and operations team through the full lifecycle of mobile products and services—from early architecture to production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in telecommunications, with hands‑on ownership of mobile network technologies.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams spanning both operations and engineering.
• Deep knowledge of mobile technology across generations (2G–5G and beyond).
• Fluency in mobile signaling protocols including SS7/MAP and Diameter.
• Expert knowledge of ITU‑T and 3GPP specifications and GSMA recommendations.
• Knowledge of mobile data services, SMS hubs, and voice network concepts.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Strategic thinker, clear communicator, and collaborative leader.
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels internally and with partners.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Strategy — Set the roadmap for network capability, vendor selection, and evolution of core network functions.
• Infrastructure — Oversee core network, data centers, and virtualized infrastructure, IPX services.
• Operations — Own network operations and engineering end to end, performance optimization and QoS/KPI tracking.
• Roaming and Services — Set roaming strategy and manage international agreements and interconnects.
• Vendor Relationships — Negotiate contracts and manage delivery with telecom equipment vendors.
• Team Leadership — Lead a distributed engineering and operations team; align groups on priorities.
• Innovation — Track emerging technologies to improve network performance or reduce costs.
