Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Chief Medical Officer-Primary Care to lead the BILH Primary Care enterprise, ensuring clinical quality, safety, patient experience, and population health performance across the system.

This role reports to the President of the BILH Medical Group and guides recruitment, workforce development, and compensation strategy for PCPs and APPs, while maintaining a portion of active clinical practice.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with MA licensure and board certification in primary care required.
• Active clinical practice (0.25 FTE) required with panel management responsibilities.
• Minimum 10 years of clinical practice.
• 5–7 years of significant clinical leadership responsibility.
• Experience leading a system-wide primary care physician enterprise preferred.
• Experience with primary care compensation design including wRVU benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and govern BILH Primary Care across multiple sites and entities.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, and leadership development.
• Design and benchmark PCP/APP compensation plans and incentives.
• Advance population health initiatives and value-based care.
• Ensure access, panel management, and care coordination standards.
• Collaborate with system leadership to align clinical governance and strategy.
