REMSA is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to lead medical operations and ensure regulatory compliance across our EMS system in Reno, NV. The CMO will own the CQI program, direct system education, and serve as medical director and clinical spokesperson for the organization.

The role requires an MD/DO with Emergency Medicine board certification and extensive EMS leadership experience, with responsibility for protocols, risk management, and innovative care models to advance system performance.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with medical license in the relevant state and board certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Minimum five years of EMS medical direction experience as a system/regional medical director or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead clinical governance, CQI initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience developing protocols, standing orders, and treatment guidelines based on evidence.

Responsabilités

• Own the CQI program and drive a data-driven culture of improvement across all services.
• Lead medical oversight, credentialing, privileging, and performance evaluation for medical direction staff.
• Develop and approve clinical protocols and guidelines with stakeholder collaboration.
• Provide medical control and physician oversight for ground and air EMS operations.
• Report quality and safety metrics to the Board and oversight bodies.
