Job description

We have been retained by a Series A biotech who are looking for a Chief Medical Officer.

For background, my client are advancing a differentiated pipeline of therapies targeting autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. This appointment represents a foundational executive hire for the company as it transitions from discovery and translational research toward clinical development and first-in-human studies. The Chief Medical Officer will join the executive leadership team and play a central role in translating cutting-edge scientific discovery into clinical strategy, building the company’s clinical organization, and advancing a novel class of therapeutics.

The successful candidate will bring a combination of deep clinical development expertise, scientific credibility, and entrepreneurial leadership, helping guide the company through key value inflection points including IND-enabling work, early clinical trials, regulatory engagement, and future financings. My client hires A-players, and standards are high! As such, you should be able to confidently function as a leader, and have the gravitas required to work in this critical role.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

• Must be a physician (ideally boarded gastroenterologist) who has 10+ years' Industry experience, some of which must have been in biotech
• Significant experience of designing, executing and leading IBD studies globally
• End to end drug development experience
• Experience of working in a small, elite team environment with the ability to work at pace
• You should be a driven, agile MD with an unrivaled track record of success
• Exemplary communication skills
• Ability to think with first principles, to make quick, informed decisions
