Job summary

Green Life Science, a fast-growing clinical research site network with 20+ sites across the United States, seeks a Chief Medical Officer to lead medical and scientific strategy across the network. Reporting to the CEO, you will shape clinical standards, oversee investigator performance, and guide scientific direction at each site.

As an MD or DO with an active US license and extensive PI leadership, you will drive quality, audits, and regulators interactions, while maintaining an active PI

Qualifications

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted US medical license; board certified.
• Extensive Principal Investigator experience, with 80+ completed clinical trials as PI.
• Broad therapeutic experience across multiple areas (cardiometabolic, CNS, vaccines, respiratory, women's health, dermatology, or general medicine).
• Proven site leadership experience (Medical Director/Site Director/Regional medical lead).
• Phase I–IV experience with industry sponsors and CROs.
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, FDA regulations and IRB processes; direct audit/inspection experience.
• Track record of leading investigators and clinical teams to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and scientific leadership across all sites and therapeutic areas.
• Lead, mentor and develop PIs and Sub-Investigators, including onboarding and performance standards.
• Serve as PI on selected studies and maintain active research presence.
• Own medical oversight of protocol execution, patient safety and AE management per ICH-GCP, FDA and IRB requirements.
• Partner with Quality on sponsor audits and FDA inspections; drive CAPAs.
• Act as senior medical contact for sponsors and CROs during feasibility and site visits.
• Assess new protocols and therapeutic areas for scientific fit and recruitment potential.
• Support network growth through new sites, acquisitions, and investigator recruitment.
• Sit on the executive leadership team and shape company strategy.
• Build the medical function as the network scales.

Chief Medical Officer – Clinical Research Site Network (USA)

About the company

We are supporting a fast-growing clinical research site network with 20+ sites across the United States. The business is expanding through new sites and acquisitions, and it now wants a Chief Medical Officer to lead medical and scientific strategy across the whole network.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, the CMO will be the senior physician leader for the network. You will be accountable for medical oversight, investigator quality and scientific strategy at every site. You will lead the network's Principal Investigators and Sub-Investigators and set the clinical standards sponsors rely on. You will also be the medical voice of the business with sponsors, CROs and regulators. This is a hands-on executive role for an experienced PI who has also led sites and teams.

• Assess new protocols and therapeutic areas for scientific fit and recruitment potential
• Support network growth through new sites, acquisitions, and investigator recruitment and integration
• Sit on the executive leadership team and shape company strategy
• Build out the medical function as the network scales

What we're looking for

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted US medical license; board certified
• Extensive Principal Investigator experience, with 80+ completed clinical trials as PI
• Broad therapeutic experience across multiple areas, e.g. cardiometabolic, CNS/psychiatry, vaccines/infectious disease, respiratory, women's health, dermatology or general medicine
• Proven site leadership experience, such as Medical Director, Site Director or regional medical lead within a site, SMO or site network
• Phase I-IV experience with industry sponsors and CROs
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, FDA regulations and IRB processes, with direct audit and/or inspection experience
• A track record of leading investigators and clinical teams to a high standard

Nice to have

• Network-level medical leadership (CMO, VP Medical Affairs or similar)
• Experience with M&A, site integration or rapid growth
• Established sponsor and CRO relationships
• Multiple state licenses, or willingness to obtain them
