TYLin Group is seeking a Chief Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems for major rail and transit projects in North America. You will oversee HVAC, tunnel ventilation, and vertical transportation design for stations, tunnels, and facilities.

This senior role emphasizes technical leadership and project management across multidisciplinary teams. You will mentor engineers, manage design packages from concept to final design, and ensure compliance with NFPA, ASHRAE,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, ideally in rail/transit.
• Expertise in HVAC and tunnel ventilation design for underground infrastructure.
• Experience leading elevator/vertical transportation design for station projects.
• PE license strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of HVAC, ventilation, and supporting systems for transit facilities.
• Serve as technical authority for vertical transportation systems and station accessibility.
• Oversee design packages from concept through final design with drawings and reports.
• Manage calculations, airflow modeling, and performance-based design approaches.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, ASHRAE, and transit agency criteria; coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
