Job summary

CSG Talent represents a leading global mining organisation seeking a Chief Mechanical Engineer to drive delivery of complex projects from design through commissioning. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, provide engineering direction and ensure safety and performance standards are met.

We are looking for a mechanical engineering leader with 7+ years of experience (or a Master's with 5+), strong conveyor and bulk handling expertise, and a track record in mining.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with leadership
• Strong background in conveyor and bulk material handling systems
• Experience with conveyor sizing, capacity analysis and material flow modelling
• Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA safety regulations
• PE certification or an advanced degree would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Lead complex mechanical engineering projects from design through commissioning
• Provide technical leadership across conveyor and bulk material handling systems
• Oversee engineering design, calculations, specifications and reviews
• Evaluate equipment selection, vendor proposals and engineering solutions
• Support project budgets, schedules, resource planning and delivery
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement

CSG Talent is representing a leading global mining organisation in the search for an accomplished Chief Mechanical Engineer to take a leading role in the delivery of complex engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong mechanical engineering leader with a background in mining, conveyors and bulk material handling systems to influence major projects, provide engineering direction and drive technical excellence.

Opportunity

The Opportunity You'll take ownership of key engineering activities, leading projects from design through to construction and commissioning. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you'll provide technical expertise, oversee engineering deliverables and ensure solutions meet the highest standards of quality, safety and performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and delivering complex mechanical engineering projects.
• Providing technical leadership across conveyor and bulk material handling systems.
• Overseeing engineering design, calculations, specifications and technical reviews.
• Evaluating equipment selection, vendor proposals and engineering solutions.
• Supporting project budgets, schedules, resource planning and delivery.
• Mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with experienced mechanical engineering professionals who bring:

• A Mechanical Engineering degree and 7+ years' relevant experience, including leadership experience (or a Master's degree with 5+ years).
• A strong background in mechanical engineering and project delivery.
• Specialist expertise in conveyor systems and bulk material handling, ideally within mining.
• Experience with conveyor sizing, capacity analysis and material flow modelling.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and safety regulations, including MSHA and OSHA.
• Experience with Belt Analyst, Ansys Rocky or similar software is highly desirable.
• PE certification or an advanced degree would be an advantage.
