Job description

Our client is a leading manufacturer of a wide range of material handling solutions, including crane and rigging accessories, forklift attachments, and port & rail equipment. As a Chief Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering department, working on projects involving new products, existing designs, and prototypes. Your role will involve developing new or improved products, processes, and techniques, while maintaining modularity across product lines where appropriate.

Pay:

$100,000 – 140,000

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new and existing products.
  2. Evaluate mechanical and structural systems, including but not limited to machine structures, winches, gearboxes, motors, sheaves, drums, enclosures, and operator cabs.
  3. Prepare component and system drawings (layouts, assemblies, installation drawings).
  4. Draft components and systems, annotating drawings with dimensions, surface finishes, welds (AWS D14.1 or D1.1), and tolerance fits for manufacturing and assembly.
  5. Mentor other engineers by providing guidance, feedback, and support within the team and across engineering departments.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  2. 6+ years of experience in the relevant engineering disciplines.
  3. Proficiency in working within a structured 3-D environment; 2-D design skills are a plus. Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks is desirable.
  4. Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural connections, including bolted, pinned, or welded joints.
  5. Proven track record of leading multiple projects and teams.
