Job description

We’re looking for a strategic, growth-minded Chief Marketing Officer to lead brand and growth marketing across our high-performing product portfolio: Magic Molecule, SkinSmart, and CleanSmart. This executive will build and execute a robust, omnichannel marketing strategy - owning Brand Strategy, Innovation, Digital & Social, Growth & Retention, Media, Communications, eCommerce/DTC, and Retail/Shopper Marketing under one umbrella. The ideal candidate is a hybrid operator: blue-chip CPG-trained and startup-tested, with 15+ years of experience leading full-funnel marketing, brand growth, and team development in high-growth consumer categories. You’ve scaled brands from ~$30M to $100M+, know how to stretch a dollar, and bring a deep understanding of what it takes to build omnichannel awareness and conversion in Personal Care, Beauty, or Wellness.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include leading the overall marketing strategy and positioning for Magic Molecule, SkinSmart, and CleanSmart, ensuring each brand has a distinct voice, market fit, and growth plan.

Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Positioning
  • Lead the overall marketing strategy and positioning for Magic Molecule, SkinSmart, and CleanSmart, ensuring each brand has a distinct voice, market fit, and growth plan.
  • Establish and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies across DTC, Amazon, and retail.
  • Develop and execute a cohesive brand strategy across a multi-brand portfolio, ensuring clear market positioning while navigating and aligning with distinct regulatory environments (e.g., FDA for skincare, EPA for disinfecting products).
Performance Marketing
  • Drive strategy across digital and performance marketing channels including Amazon, social media (Meta, TikTok), SEO/SEM, influencer, and paid media.
  • Optimize full-funnel conversion strategies while building brand awareness and equity.
E-Commerce & Retail Growth
  • Own marketing strategies across both eCommerce and retail, with tailored growth plans for Amazon, DTC, and key brick-and-mortar partners including Target and other national retailers.
  • Drive shopper marketing programs, field marketing support, and channel-specific messaging.
Data-Driven Decisions
  • Use data and analytics to optimize performance, track marketing ROI, and inform campaign development.
  • Ensure marketing spend aligns with business objectives and continuously adjust to maximize return.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team spanning brand, growth, creative, and insights functions.
  • Foster a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture that thrives in high-growth environments.
Brand Awareness
  • Drive large-scale brand awareness campaigns, especially for Magic Molecule ensuring resonance across priority audiences and channels.
  • Partner with creative, content, and social media teams to deliver engaging and cohesive brand storytelling.
  • Lead brand and channel strategy to maximize portfolio potential, balancing targeted need-state marketing with a broader "all-in-one" approach - tailored by channel to drive consumer relevance and growth.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to define and execute long-term brand strategies that support both top-line revenue and brand health.
  • Balance short-term acquisition with long-term brand-building investments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with product, sales, innovation, and operations to align marketing with product launches, sales initiatives, and retail execution.
  • Support innovation pipeline planning and pricing strategy based on consumer insights and white space analysis.
Qualifications
Experience & Track Record
  • 15+ years of experience in brand, performance, and eCommerce marketing across CPG or high-growth consumer brands.
  • Proven track record scaling brands from ~$50M to $150M+ in revenue, ideally within Personal Care, Beauty, or Wellness.
  • Strong omnichannel experience with a focus on taking digital-first brands into retail and expanding across Natural, Grocery, Mass, Prestige, and Specialty.
  • Foundation in blue-chip CPG best practices with experience in scrappy, fast-paced startups.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate brand architecture and channel dynamics to develop strategies that balance targeted need-state marketing with a broader "all-in-one" brand approach - adapting by channel where appropriate.
  • Proven track record of identifying white space opportunities and crafting brand strategies to successfully compete across categories, need states, and distribution channels.
  • Ability to define and operationalize meaningful KPIs that drive brand growth, performance marketing efficiency, and customer acquisition/retention.
  • Expert in performance marketing, media buying, attribution, and ROI-driven strategy.
