Job Description

We seek an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance at the newly renovated Normal Marriott. This hotel features 228 rooms and over 24,000 sq ft of event space, serving as a key venue in Bloomington-Normal. Located near Illinois State University and Uptown Normal, it offers an excellent opportunity to impact a top-performing property.

Salary Range: $70k-$80k

The Chief Engineer will lead the engineering department, ensuring excellent guest experiences through effective management, leadership, and maintenance operations. Responsibilities include:

• Leading, developing, and training a diverse team aligned with Atrium Core Values
• Managing engineering staff, employment practices, and performance management
• Maintaining inventory of parts and supplies
• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
• Participating in budget development and strategic planning
• Creating work schedules and managing departmental productivity
• Overseeing preventative maintenance and capital projects
• Ensuring safety compliance and managing risk prevention programs
• Tracking service requests and ensuring their completion
• Managing life safety systems and safety policies

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Leadership and supervisory experience
• Experience managing budgets, P&L, and R&M expenses
• Knowledge of utilities, energy systems, and capital planning
• Understanding of NFPA fire codes and life safety systems
