Job summary

The Legacy Hotel in Medina, Ohio is seeking a full-time Chief Maintenance Engineer to lead the property’s engineering and maintenance operations. You will oversee preventive maintenance programs, daily work orders, and special projects to ensure high-quality results.

Responsibilities include leading a maintenance team, performing repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general trades, and developing a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan to minimize future issues.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience required, previous management experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of routine maintenance including determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• The right candidate will have experience using hand and power tools, floor care machines, electrical testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of maintenance technicians on daily maintenance operations with a focus on efficiently running maintenance projects and operational functions; coach and lead the team.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, and landscaping.
• Perform repairs and related tasks to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive as needed.
• Develop, revise, review, and implement a preventive maintenance program for the building to reduce future problems.
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs, ballast, and outlets).
• Perform plumbing duties, inspect, install, repair and replace pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures, unclog sinks and toilets, repair faucets and fixtures, replace washers, pipes.
• Maintain assigned equipment and tools; perform inspections for safe operation; prioritize and perform repairs or replacements; conduct preventative maintenance; monitor need for replacement or advanced repairs.
• Maintain building HVAC equipment to keep climate control.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all property engineering and maintenance operations ensuring that preventive maintenance programs, daily work orders, and special projects are completed efficiently and with the highest quality.

The right candidate will have:

• Previous maintenance experience required, previous management experience strongly preferred

• Perform routine to difficult plumbing duties, inspecting, installing, repairing and replacing pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures, unclogging sinks and toilets, repair of faucet, assemblies and replacement of washers, repairs or replacement pipes, repair of fountains.
• Maintain assigned equipment and tools; perform inspections to ensure safe operating conditions; establishes priorities; performs repairs and/or replacement of parts; cleans and performs preventative maintenance; and monitors need for replacement or advanced repairs.
• Maintain the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning.
