TypeSafe AI in San Francisco is seeking its first in‑house General Counsel to build and lead the legal function as the company grows. You’ll align legal strategy with founders and teams across engineering, product, and GTM to support product launches, customer engagements, and vendor decisions.

You’ll own commercial, privacy, and regulatory matters, building processes and tooling to scale legal operations while delivering pragmatic risk‑balanced guidance.

Competenze

• 10–15 years of relevant legal experience, including meaningful in‑house experience at a growing technology company.
• Strong legal training, ideally with experience at a leading law firm, and a track record inside a business.
• Substantial commercial contracting experience; able to counsel on product and privacy matters.

Mansioni

• Lead customer and partner negotiations, including enterprise agreements, API distribution, and vendor contracts.
• Work with engineering on product design, data use, retention, international processing, and security commitments.
• Identify laws, regulatory developments, and industry practices that could affect our products and business.
• Establish contract intake, approval, signing, and management processes.
• Provide company‑wide legal support across employment, corporate, governance, IP, and other matters.
• Choose and manage outside counsel, set priorities and budgets, and decide internal vs. external effort.
