Job summary

Interface.ai is seeking an in‑house attorney to lead legal strategy at a fast-growing fintech AI startup. You will negotiate complex SaaS, data privacy, and employment matters, partnering with leadership to shape governance, risk, and compliance as we scale.

You will work directly with the CEO/CTO and manage outside counsel while ensuring regulatory readiness, board support, and efficient deal cycles in a high‑velocity environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as department of one with 8–15 years combined experience.
• Deep expertise in SaaS contracts, employment law, data privacy.
• Experience managing outside counsel and cross-border issues (US/India).
• Ability to translate legal complexity into actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate customer, vendor, reseller and data‑processing agreements.
• Advise People Ops on hiring, terminations, equity grants and multi‑state compliance.
• Build and run privacy / AI compliance program (GDPR, CCPA, FTC).
• Prepare board consents, maintain cap‑table and support financings.
• Manage outside counsel on IP, litigation and insurance claims.
