Job summary

Ocrolus seeks a senior in-house lawyer reporting to the General Counsel to own end-to-end legal matters at a fast-growing fintech. You will negotiate SaaS/API contracts, advise on AI and data privacy, and coordinate with engineering, product, and compliance teams to move quickly and mitigate risk.

You will also manage outside counsel, contribute to corporate governance, and help scale legal operations with AI-enabled tools in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 6-10 years of legal experience in tech or financial services.
• Strong commercial contracts experience with SaaS/API agreements.
• Familiarity with financial services regulation including lending, payments, fintech.
• Data privacy and security knowledge (CCPA/GLBA).
• Experience using legal AI tools and enthusiasm for technology in practice.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full lifecycle of customer, vendor, and partner agreements including SaaS/API and data licensing.
• Advise product teams on legal issues related to AI/ML, data privacy, and financial data handling.
• Support regulatory compliance with financial services regulations applicable to lending customers and partners.
• Partner with InfoSec/engineering on data privacy compliance, DPA, and incident response.
• Assist with corporate governance, equity matters, and board materials.
• Select and manage outside counsel, controlling costs and timelines.
• Help build scalable legal processes and pilot AI-powered legal tools to increase speed.
• Serve as trusted advisor to sales, partnerships, finance, and product leaders.
