Job summary

The United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) in New York seeks a senior official to lead intergovernmental engagement and regional liaison activities within the Strategic Partnerships and Engagement Division. The incumbent coordinates with UN bodies, regional directors, and Member States to advance the 2030 agenda.

Candidates should bring a master’s or higher in a relevant field and at least ten years of intergovernmental experience, with strong leadership, writing, and negotiation

Qualifications

Ten years of experience liaising with Member States in intergovernmental engagement.
Experience advising on engagement of seniors in intergovernmental forums.
Experience with UN development coordination architecture, regional focus.
Strong report writing, negotiation and communications skills.
HQ experience in development cooperation is desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead development and implementation of engagement strategies with Member States.
Coordinate with DCO and regional teams to align messaging and decisions.
Prepare analyses, briefings and background notes for senior management.
Support regional architectures, planning and evaluations.
