Job summary

The Office of Inspector General in Minnesota seeks an Inspector General to build and lead the new state office focused on fraud prevention, investigations, and audits across agencies.

The IG will establish statewide standards for program integrity, direct investigations, and reporting, and oversee a five-year term with potential for further terms. Hybrid telework up to 50% is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Law or related field.
• Certification from the Association of Inspectors General as a Certified Inspector General or Certified Inspector General Investigator.
• Ten or more years of professional experience in auditing, investigations, law enforcement, or program integrity.
• Commitment to public service integrity and disclosure of prior opinions or actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead state-wide program integrity investigations and audits.
• Establish, enforce, and monitor statewide fraud prevention standards.
• Direct and coordinate investigations across executive agencies.
• Ensure timely reporting and adherence to professional standards.
