This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Chief Inspector for our Glastonbury office with an interest in bridge and transit engineering/construction.

Your Impact

  • Assign and supervise construction inspection team members.
  • Review and check inspector's daily work reports for correctness and accuracy.
  • Keep the Resident Engineer informed of field construction operations.
  • Participate in meetings and ensure the field staff is conforming to all health and safety standards.
  • Communicate with contractor's foreman and supervisors regarding work schedules and work operations.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 11 years of acceptable inspection experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills of technical documents.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NACE I and/or SSPC Certification. AMPP Certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • NICET IV or acceptable equivalent ASCE grade or combination of acceptable education and experience on similar duties as a NYSDOT employee.
