Job summary

Securian Financial Group seeks a Head of Cybersecurity and Chief Information Security Officer to protect customer trust while enabling enterprise innovation. This executive will lead the enterprise Cybersecurity organization, influence technology strategy, and translate evolving threats into enterprise priorities.

The role requires senior leadership in security, risk, data and AI, with strong business judgment and Board-level communication.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in cybersecurity or technology risk.
• Demonstrated success leading cybersecurity transformation initiatives.
• Deep cybersecurity expertise with strong data/AI fluency.
• Understanding of enterprise risk, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite.
• Ability to influence broad technology strategy and modernization decisions.
• Credibility with Risk, Legal, Compliance and Audit stakeholders.
• Experience presenting to Boards or Board committees.
• Crisis leadership and cybersecurity response knowledge.
• Experience building and developing leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the enterprise Cybersecurity organization.
• Develop and evolve the cybersecurity strategy aligned with enterprise AI priorities.
• Translate threats into actionable enterprise priorities and risk decisions.
• Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance and Audit to meet regulatory requirements.
• Lead cybersecurity priorities and investment discussions with senior leaders.
