Job summary

Habitat Omaha seeks a Chief Housing Officer to lead housing strategy, production, and real estate development, guiding construction, home repair, and real estate operations. This executive role reports to the CEO and sits on the Executive Leadership Team, driving mission impact through strategic planning and resource stewardship.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in housing, construction, real estate development, community development, or related fields.
• Experience leading multiple departments and senior leaders in a complex organizational environment.
• Proven success developing and executing organizational strategy with measurable outcomes.
• Experience presenting to Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams.
• Strong understanding of affordable housing, community development, construction, and real estate principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and development for leaders responsible for Construction, Home Repair, and Real Estate.
• Build a high-performing housing leadership team focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee volunteer and internship programs within housing functions and align with organizational priorities.
• Support succession planning, organizational design, and leadership development across housing functions.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Lead long-term housing strategy and production planning across all housing functions.
• Establish production targets and KPIs for construction, home repair, and real estate.
• Coordinate housing delivery efforts to achieve organizational goals and expand capacity.
