Job summary

Tutor Intelligence is seeking a Head of Hardware Engineering to lead the hardware organization responsible for our robots. You will manage mechanical, electrical, firmware/embedded, and manufacturing engineering, defining a robust roadmap and building a high-performing team.

You will partner with the CTO to drive growth, ensure quality and manufacturability, and scale the team as Tutor expands across North America.

Qualifications

• Led hardware organizational growth to 50+ people and shipped a complex electromechanical product in volume.
• Led mechanical, electrical, and firmware/embedded engineering teams, with ability to hire and judge all three.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hardware engineering organization and teams across mechanical, electrical, firmware/embedded, and manufacturing.
• Set the hardware roadmap in partnership with the CTO and ensure alignment with product and production goals.
• Grow and mentor managers, scale the team, and maintain operational excellence as the scope expands.
