Job summary

Spirit of America in Arlington, VA seeks a Chief Growth Officer to unify Development, Marketing, and Communications, driving public awareness and philanthropic support for SOA's mission.

Based in Arlington, the CGO will lead a high-impact team, translate a powerful value proposition into donor engagement, and align strategy with the CEO and Board to strengthen revenue and program impact.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years in growth, marketing, revenue, or business development at a scaling organization.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven track record of creating significant revenue growth and translating brand awareness into revenue.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to develop original approaches.
• Nonprofit leadership experience or fundraising involvement.
• Experience integrating marketing with fundraising or sales.
• Financial and analytical fluency including budgets, CRM, and forecasting.
• Strong interest in national security and public service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategy to dramatically expand public awareness and philanthropic support with clear milestones and priorities.
• Lead fundraising across major gifts, foundations, corporate philanthropy, and grassroots giving.
• Oversee brand, marketing, and communications to attract donors, partners, and the public.
• Build and lead a coordinated Development, Marketing, and Communications team.
