Job summary

Spirit of America in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Chief of International Operations to lead its global operations, drive growth, and advance national security objectives through entrepreneurial, field-tested strategies.

Reporting to the CEO, you will partner with senior leaders to align international operations with fundraising, communications, and program delivery, ensuring speed, accountability, and impact in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in international affairs, public policy, business, national security, or a related field.
• Fifteen (15)+ years of progressive executive leadership experience in international operations, national security, foreign affairs, international development, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience building or transforming organizations, functions, or enterprise capabilities from concept through implementation.
• Strong executive leadership, financial, and operational management experience, including budgets and risk management.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building with senior leaders, boards, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a bold global strategy to advance U.S. national security, stability, and influence abroad.
• Lead and institutionalize Spirit of America’s capability to identify, validate, incubate, and scale high‑impact opportunities.
• Oversee the Opportunity Development Group and drive disciplined yet entrepreneurial sourcing and partnerships.
• Drive growth by identifying new opportunities, partnerships, and geographic presences with asymmetric impact.
• Oversee risk management, strategic planning, budgeting, talent management, and performance across international operations.
