Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead revenue strategy, forecasting, and results across individual giving, grants, corporate partnerships, signature events, and earned revenue. The CDO will build a team, systems, and campaigns to diversify and grow income while advancing BGCGW’s mission in the DMV.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of progressively senior experience in nonprofit resource development, with at least five years leading a development function.
• Record of personally cultivating and closing six- and seven-figure gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Experience leading a marketing/communications function and building a strong brand.
• Five+ years of management experience leading a development team.
• Strong, high-net-worth donor relations and board-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue plan aligned with BGCGW priorities.
• Own the full revenue portfolio: individual gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, and earned revenue.
• Lead shift toward recurring, contracted, and diversified revenue sources with transparent reporting.
• Build and lead a high-performing Resource Development and Marketing team.
• Oversee donor data integrity, pipeline management, and stewardship.
