Job summary

Versant is seeking a Vice President of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) to lead the Cyber organization’s risk program and control framework. The role reports to the Chief Information Security Officer and shapes strategy across governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance for the portfolio including multiple brands.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in cyber security leadership, hands-on audits, and strong communication with executives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in a leadership role across cyber security disciplines including governance, risk, compliance, audit, and business-facing assessment/risk/resolution lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience leading external audits and regulatory reviews involving multiple, complex business workflows.
• Experience creating and maintaining governance policies, compliance programs, security training, and board reporting formats.
• Experience developing internal testing and control frameworks to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
• M&A experience driving security evaluations and providing comprehensive risk evaluations.
• Experience leading functions and staff defending large, complex global computing enterprises and transforming key security functions.
• Expert knowledge of risk frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000) and industry regulations (SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA).

Responsibilities

• Setting the strategic direction of the GRC organization with alignment across Cyber partner organizations and the Cyber strategy.
• Transforming the maturity of risk management lifecycle and operational processes.
• Directing cross-business engagement and prioritization across GRC services.
• Directing outsourced services and staff to support operational efficiencies.
• Evaluating security risk of technology implementations and accountability within business leadership for accepted risk.
• Building stakeholder relationships across business lines for a unified cyber defense mission.
• Leading the transformation and sustainability of the Versant Cyber Organization.
• Developing and supporting staff across a wide range of experience levels.
