Job summary

Montgomery College seeks a strategic Vice President for Government Relations to lead the College’s legislative, policy, and advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels. Reporting to the President, this role develops a comprehensive government relations strategy aligned with the College’s Strategic Plan and Transformational Aspirations.

• Master’s degree required; seven+ years in government relations or related fields.
• Experience supervising staff and developing organizational strategy.
• Proven ability to engage senior leaders and policymakers.

Responsibilities

• Lead legislative, policy, and advocacy efforts at local, state, and federal levels.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy aligned with institutional priorities.
• Build coalitions and manage relationships with officials, agencies, and education partners.
• Coordinate testimony, advocacy materials, and strategic communications for College leadership.
• Provide leadership and development for Government Relations staff.
