Job summary

Montgomery College seeks a visionary Vice President for Government Relations to lead its federal, state, and local advocacy efforts. You will guide legislative strategy, build coalitions, and advise the President on policy matters affecting higher education in a dynamic, diverse region.

The role requires deep understanding of government relations, public policy, and fiscal processes, with a track record of advancing priorities and engaging broad stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or other advanced degree in public administration, public policy, law, political science, government, education policy, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in government relations, government affairs, public policy, higher education, advocacy, external affairs, coalition building or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the President's strategic advisor on governmental, legislative, policy, and political matters affecting the College.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive federal, state, and local government relations strategy aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Translate priorities into a focused legislative, policy, and budget agenda and lead its advancement.
