Job summary

GEOPIER seeks a Chief Engineer - Geotechnical in Davidson, NC to provide top-level technical leadership across geotechnical engineering, construction, and design activities. The role drives strategy, quality, and risk management while mentoring senior engineers and supporting major client engagements.

The candidate brings 15+ years in geotechnical disciplines, 10+ years in leadership, and deep ground improvement expertise, with PE licensing and a PhD preferred.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in geotechnical engineering, construction or related fields.
• 10+ years progressive leadership of engineers/teams.
• Deep expertise in ground improvement and geotechnical design/constructibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership at the executive level across engineering and technical leaders.
• Collaborate to refine Geopier's engineering strategy, standards, and governance.
• Serve as senior technical authority on complex geotechnical designs and methods.
• Ensure consistency and quality of engineering practices across regions/projects.
• Lead technical risk assessment and mitigation for major projects.
• Support innovation and advancement of geotechnical tools and methods.
• Represent Geopier with clients, regulators, and professional bodies.
