Job summary

Commercial Metals is seeking a Chief Engineer to serve as the highest-level geotechnical advisor for Geopier projects. You will mentor engineering leaders, shape strategy, and ensure technical governance across regions and projects.

With 15+ years in geotechnical engineering and 10+ years in leadership, you will drive risk management, pursue innovation, and represent the company with clients and regulators on major engagements.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in geotechnical engineering or closely related fields.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing senior engineers or technical teams.
• Deep expertise in ground improvement and foundation systems.
• Ability to lead organizations through growth, complexity and change.
• Strong judgment in technical decision-making and risk management.
• Active in industry associations.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide Leadership Team level support and mentorship to engineering and technical leaders.
• Collaborate to establish and refine engineering strategy, standards and governance.
• Serve as high level technical authority on complex geotechnical designs and methods.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance of engineering practices across regions.
• Lead technical risk assessment and mitigation for high-profile projects.
• Support innovation and advancement of geotechnical systems and tools.
• Support major pursuits, proposals, and key client engagements as a technical leader.
• Represent the company with clients, regulatory bodies and professional organizations.
