Job summary

Riverside County Sheriff's Office in Perris seeks a Chief Forensic Pathologist to lead the forensic pathology program, determine causes of death, and provide expert testimony. The role supervises contract pathologists and staff, performs autopsies, and ensures quality reports and investigations.

Qualified candidates will have CA medical certification and board accreditation in forensic pathology, with at least three years of relevant experience and the ability to testify in court as an expert

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience as a forensic pathologist.
• Strong expertise in autopsies, toxicology, and court testimony.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the forensic pathology activities of the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's Office.
• Testify and provide medical evidence at inquests, coroner reviews and court trials.
• Perform autopsies and supervise contract pathologists and staff.
• Prepare detailed reports and serve as expert witness in legal proceedings.
