Job summary

Air Force Test Center at Duke Field, Florida, seeks a Full-Time Supervisory General Engineer (NH-801-04) to serve as Chief Test Engineer for the 413th Flight Test Squadron. This role involves leading a test engineering workforce in sustainment and flight testing across multiple aircraft, including H-1, HH-60W, MH-139 and CV-22.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program, DAWIA certification within 24 months, and the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI

Qualifications

• Rotary wing aviation experience is desirable.
• Graduate of a recognized long-course Test Pilot School is desirable.
• Experience with uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) is desirable.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited college or university or meet DAWIA requirements.
• DAWIA certification must be achievable within 24 months of duties.
• Must pass a Class III flight physical examination.
• Strong leadership and program management skills for a large engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Manages and supervises a test engineering workforce engaged in sustainment testing of H-1, HH-60W, MH-139 and CV-22 aircraft.
• Oversees training and qualification testing of 24 engineers/test conductors to ensure DoD/USAF/AFTC compliance.
• Leads engineering teams in testing and operations of UAS supporting larger test programs.
• Plans work for subordinates and sets priorities to meet program needs.
• Develops goals aligned with the unit’s mission and customer requirements.
• Establishes and updates policies to ensure safety, regulatory compliance and mission success.
• Represents the unit to install and functional area organizations and engages with customers.
