Chief Flight Instructor## Department:Engineering | University AirportPerforms duties and responsibilities of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificated Chief Flight Instructor; administer the Flight Education Division of the Aviation Department; manages all aspects of the Division; ensures that flight instruction is given in accordance with federal regulations; manages flight education programs; FAA Private Pilot Cert.; oversees flight safety programs, supervise Flight Education programs and personnel, and administer instructor standardization checks; serves as FAA certificated Chief Flight Instructor; assures instruction quality and student progress/completion, including exams and check-rides; recommends and develops flight instruction programs, improvements, innovative teaching methods, and research; instructs advanced students and assists instructors with special students; coordinates content of classroom instruction with faculty, may provide classroom instruction; assists with budgeting, marketing functions; responsible for hiring Flight Instructors, assigns duties and evaluates performance;## Additional Information:Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees may be desirable.
