Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, NM, is seeking a seasoned financial leader to oversee patient accounting, accounting and finance departments, and overall financial management. This role partners with senior management to ensure robust controls and strategic financial planning across the system.

Qualifications

• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• Eight+ years of financial management experience in a hospital or health system.
• Professional certification such as CPA, FHFMA, or FACHE.
• Direct experience in issuing tax-exempt revenue bonds.
• Proven experience building and leading a professional accounting and finance staff.

Responsibilities

• Administrative responsibility for patient accounting, registration, and accounts receivable management.
• Chief accounting officer responsible for accounting and finance departments.
• Coordinates the hospitals budget preparation, approval and monitoring processes and systems.
• Help to present and interpret data effectively to members of senior management and the Board of Directors.
• Identifies and meets with all appropriate third-party payors and develops working relationships with them.
• Ensures that SJRMC has integrated financial management systems and controls responsive to organizational needs.
• Represents the organization with external interested parties such as investment bankers, commercial bankers, insurance representatives and brokers, legislators, association members and vendors.
• Serve as a resource person or internal consultant to other senior management personnel on specific finance related issues.
• Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work.
• Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship.
• Other duties as assigned.
