Overview

Are you a driven and strategic finance executive with a world-class pedigree and the ambition to help take a company public? Our client—an innovative and rapidly scaling food manufacturing company headquartered in downtown Denver—is seeking its first Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With $24M in current annual revenue, strong retail distribution, and an IPO on the near-term horizon, this is a rare opportunity to architect the financial foundation of a future household name in the better-for-you food space. As CFO, you’ll work alongside an accomplished, visionary founder and take the reins in transforming a nimble, high-growth company into a disciplined, investor-ready public organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a core member of the executive team and strategic thought partner to the CEO.
• Lead financial strategy to scale operations and support growth to $100M+ in revenue.
• Provide investor-facing leadership during and after IPO execution.
• Build and lead the finance and accounting functions from the ground up.
• Implement scalable systems, processes, and internal controls.
• Select and deploy ERP and reporting solutions aligned with future public company needs.

IPO Preparation

• Lead all aspects of IPO readiness, including audit prep, S-1 drafting, and SEC compliance (10-Q, 10-K, SOX readiness).
• Partner with external auditors, investment banks, and legal counsel throughout the process.

Ongoing Finance Operations

• Oversee financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, and cash flow management.
• Guide margin improvement, promotional planning, pricing strategy, and inventory financing.
• Develop board materials and manage shareholder communications.

Requirements

• CPA with a Big Four public accounting foundation highly preferred
• Degree from a top-tier college or university highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with SEC filings, audits, and SOX compliance.
• Previous leadership within a high-growth CPG or food manufacturing environment.
• Proven success in building and leading finance teams in scaling businesses.
• Strong communication, executive presence, and cross-functional leadership.
