The ideal candidate will be based on or near the Pacific Coast and bring experience leading finance functions for a multi-location healthcare, dental, physician practice, or similarly complex service organization.

About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer will partner closely with the executive team and operating leaders to strengthen financial performance, improve visibility into business results, and support disciplined growth across the organization's affiliated dental practices.

This leader will oversee core finance functions, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, insurance processes, collections, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

  • Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy in partnership with the executive team.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Build and oversee a strong financial planning and analysis function, including reporting, variance analysis, key performance indicators, and scenario modeling.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to support practice performance, operational decisions, acquisitions, and growth initiatives.
  • Oversee accounting, monthly and year-end close processes, financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls.
  • Monitor practice-level and organization-wide profitability, revenue, expenses, working capital, and cash flow.
  • Oversee dental insurance billing, claims processes, reimbursements, denials, and payer-related performance.
  • Improve collections processes, including accounts receivable management, patient collections, insurance collections, aging analysis, and revenue-cycle performance.
  • Partner with operational and practice leaders to identify opportunities to improve collections, reduce revenue leakage, and strengthen financial results.
  • Establish consistent financial systems, processes, controls, and reporting across approximately 50-100 affiliated locations.
  • Support acquisition evaluation, financial due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition performance tracking.
  • Manage relationships with lenders, investors, auditors, tax advisors, insurance partners, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Build, develop, and lead high-performing finance and revenue-cycle teams.
  • Present financial performance, forecasts, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
