Job summary

Interfaith Alliance in Washington, DC seeks a seasoned Vice President of Finance and Administration to lead all non-programmatic operations across its affiliated 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities, including finance, HR, compliance, grants administration, and headquarters operations.

This senior executive role reports to the President and CEO, partners with program leadership, and serves on the Senior Team, ensuring financial soundness, legal compliance, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, nonprofit management or related field.
• At least seven years of increasingly responsible experience in advocacy nonprofit finance and operations with senior leadership.
• Nonprofit accounting, budgeting, audit management, and liaison to external auditors.
• Experience with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) compliance, cost allocation, and lobbying limits.
• Experience leading HR, benefits, performance management, and compliance with employment laws.
• Grants administration experience and funder reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software, payroll and HRIS systems, Excel, and Google Workspace.
• Strong judgment, discretion, integrity, and ability to work across diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Strategize and supervise finance, HR, compliance, grants, and HQ operations.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to President and Board.
• Oversee annual audits, Form 990, and internal controls.
• Manage c3/c4 cost allocation and interorganization cost-sharing.
• Oversee HR lifecycle, compensation, and policies.
• Direct grants budgeting, tracking, and funder reporting.
• Oversee facilities, IT, contracts, and vendor management.
• Advise President and senior leadership on financial sustainability and risk.
