Qualifications

  • Academic credentials in a relevant field of business, finance, public administration.
  • Distinguished record of financial stewardship, budgeting, and strategic planning for capital and non-capital projects.
  • Understanding of undergraduate public higher education in Virginia and the United States.
  • Experience with government agencies, legislative bodies, governing boards, or external partners to advance institutional priorities.
  • Experience leading and managing multifaceted and decentralized organizations.
  • Superior interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of and commitment to VMI's mission and distinctive educational model.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the review of programs for financial and administrative services, driving quality, transparency, and efficiency.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of the VMI Six-Year Plan.
  • Manage office administrations, planning, evaluation, and redesign of functions and reporting systems.
  • Direct capital outlay project planning and regular status reporting.
  • Develop the Post Facilities Master Plan, including CIP and improvements.
  • Coordinate with Board of Visitors, Alumni Agencies, and other groups on financial and administrative issues.
