Job summary

Suffolk Construction seeks a Vice President of Field Operations in Temple, TX, to provide executive leadership for Mission Critical operations. You will drive staffing, safety, and field performance across sites, ensuring consistency with SOPs and company standards.

You will oversee budgets, cross-functional collaboration, and business development efforts, while mentoring field staff and guiding project startup and closeout with discipline and urgency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of Data Center GC experience.
• Experience across large-scale, complex projects; size and scope vary by project.
• Licenses or certifications relevant to the construction industry.
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills; ability to prioritize.
• Excellent business judgment, negotiation, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for Mission Critical field operations across regions.
• Oversee staffing, safety, operational execution and field performance.
• Drive SOP standardization and workforce readiness across sites.
• Develop and manage budgets and staffing plans; support GC staffing inputs.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration between departments and field ops.
• Support safety, productivity, and morale initiatives for field staff.
• Lead business development efforts and participate in contract negotiations as needed.
• Oversee project start-up and closeout to ensure SOP compliance.
• Schedule and conduct bi-monthly superintendent meetings.
