Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for clinical, operational, financial, and administrative functions.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the hospital's mission and growth objectives.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services with a focus on safety and satisfaction.
  • Partner with Medical Staff and physicians to promote clinical excellence and physician engagement.
  • Lead and develop the hospital's management team with accountability, collaboration, and employee engagement.
  • Oversee hospital financial performance including budgeting, revenue management, expenses, and productivity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement initiatives to improve results.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, accreditation, reimbursement guidelines, and policies.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, healthcare partners, community organizations, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, strengthen market presence, and improve census and volume growth.

Job description

Sacramento Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the hospital.

The CEO will have overall responsibility for the hospital's operations and performance while ensuring that patient care, clinical quality, employee engagement, physician relationships, regulatory compliance, and financial objectives are aligned with the organization's mission and strategic priorities.

The successful candidate will be a visible and collaborative leader who can build strong relationships with physicians, employees, patients, families, and community partners. The CEO will work closely with the hospital's leadership team to drive operational excellence, strengthen clinical outcomes, support growth initiatives, and maintain a culture centered on patient care and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the hospital's clinical, operational, financial, and administrative functions.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans that support the hospital's mission, growth objectives, and long-term success.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Partner effectively with the Medical Staff and physicians to promote clinical excellence, physician engagement, and positive patient outcomes.
  • Lead and develop the hospital's management team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional development, and employee engagement.
  • Oversee hospital financial performance, including budgeting, revenue management, expense control, productivity, and achievement of financial objectives.
  • Monitor key operational and clinical performance indicators and implement initiatives to improve results.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, reimbursement guidelines, and hospital policies.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies, healthcare partners, community organizations, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, strengthen market presence, improve referral relationships, and support census and volume growth.
  • Promote effective relationships with referral sources, physicians, patients, families, and community partners.
  • Ensure appropriate policies, procedures, and processes are in place to support safe, efficient, and compliant hospital operations.
  • Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Represent Sacramento Rehabilitation Hospital within the broader healthcare and Sacramento community.
  • Anticipate changes in the healthcare environment and position the hospital to respond effectively to evolving clinical, regulatory, reimbursement, and market conditions.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of hospital operations, healthcare reimbursement, regulatory requirements, quality, and patient safety.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Strong financial and operational management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound, independent decisions and effectively manage competing priorities.
