The State of Colorado seeks an Executive Director for the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, serving in the Governor’s Cabinet. You will oversee the department's administration, programs, and strategic plan to protect health and the environment across the state.

Responsibilities include budgeting, regulatory oversight of air, water, hazardous materials, and health data, plus leading a diverse team and coordinating with state boards, tribal partners, and local agencies to advance

Formación

• Five or more years of professional executive management experience.
• Experience leading regulatory, permitting, or enforcement programs in public health or environmental protection.
• Experience building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders with varying perspectives and interests.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee department operations and align with goals and governors initiatives.
• Direct and oversee the department budget and fiscal management.
• Lead and cultivate a high-performing team with coaching and development for direct reports.
• Administer the department under authorities of state boards and commissions.
• Build relationships with local health agencies, hospitals, Tribes, environmental groups and regulated industries.
• Brief the Governor’s Office on policy issues arising from state and federal activities.
