Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Head of Exchange Infrastructure to own the matching engine, core infrastructure, third‑party custody, the algo engine and the API engine. You will lead a small, senior team of product managers and drive consolidation of multiple engines into a single platform.

You will define success metrics, partner with engineering leaders to plan migrations with minimal market disruption, and ensure cross‑functional alignment across product, engineering, risk and compliance.

Qualifications

• Senior product leader with exchange/trading platform experience.
• Experience managing senior PMs and setting roadmaps.
• Ability to translate vision into long-term roadmap.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the exchange layer, including matching engine, core infrastructure, custody, algo engine, and API engine.
• Lead and grow a team of four to five product managers, setting the bar for product craft.
• Consolidate multiple matching engines into one, starting with US derivatives, then international derivatives, then spot.
• Build interface-agnostic platform so every product team can build on the same foundation.
• Define success metrics (latency, throughput, uptime, resiliency) and hold teams accountable.
• Partner with engineering leaders to sequence migrations without disrupting live markets.
• Collaborate with Risk and Credit Infrastructure to enable a single account for trading across products.
• Anticipate industry shifts and shape the platform to stay ahead.
• Align cross-functional teams around the exchange strategy.
