Job summary

Exceed Electrical Contracting is seeking a leader to head the Estimating Team in Westminster, CO. You will assign projects, balance workloads by deadlines and complexity, set quality expectations, and coach estimators while addressing performance issues.

You’ll serve as the team’s first contact for priorities and challenges. You will own the estimating process, manage the bid schedule from opportunity review to proposal submission, and ensure estimates cover scope, labor, materials, risks, and

Responsibilities

• Lead assigning projects and balance workloads based on deadlines, project complexity, and team capacity.
• Set clear expectations for estimate quality, completeness, and turnaround time.
• Coach and develop estimators, providing feedback and addressing performance issues.
• Serve as the team’s first point of contact for questions, priorities, and estimating challenges.
• Manage the bid schedule from initial opportunity review through final proposal submission.
• Ensure estimates address scope, quantities, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, exclusions, and project-specific risks.
• Review estimates and proposals for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
• Maintain estimating standards, templates, pricing resources, and review procedures.
• Coordinate with operations and project management to incorporate lessons learned and actual project costs into future estimates.
• Work with the Vice President & Director to develop a plan for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing bids to pursue.
• Evaluate opportunities based on project fit, customer relationships, team capacity, schedule, risk, and company goals.
• Recommend which opportunities to pursue and allocate estimating resources in accordance with the agreed plan.
• Revisit priorities with the Vice President & Director as opportunities, workloads, and business needs change.
