The Estimator plays a vital role in determining the costs associated with construction projects. They analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to produce detailed cost estimates that help the company bid competitively and profitably.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed measurements and calculations of materials, labor, and equipment needed for the project.
  • Cost Analysis: Develop accurate cost breakdowns for materials, labor, subcontractors, and other resources.
  • Pricing: Research and apply current market rates for materials, labor, and equipment to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Contingency Planning: Include allowances for unforeseen factors or risks that may impact project costs.
Document Analysis
  • Blueprint Review: Analyze architectural and engineering drawings to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Specifications Evaluation: Review project specifications to ensure all materials, finishes, and methods are accounted for.
  • Bid Documents: Examine RFPs, RFQs, and other client documents to determine bidding requirements and criteria.
Bid Preparation
