Job summary

Booz Allen is seeking a Chief Engineer to act as the senior technical authority and platform modernization lead for a large-scale defensive security program. You will oversee 20+ projects, shaping the end-to-end technical vision, enforcing architectural discipline, and driving improvements in zero trust posture, resilience, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or architecture.
• 5+ years in Chief Engineer, Principal Architect, or senior technical leadership on large-scale enterprise program.
• Experience delivering enterprise security solutions in highly regulated federal environments (DoW, IC, civilian).
• Experience across multiple domains: network security, SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, cloud security (AWS/Azure GovCloud), virtualization security, ZTNA.
• Knowledge of federal contract structures (T&M, FFP, CPFF) and implications on scope and risk.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
• Education levels per above: assoc/bach/master combinations.
• Ability to obtain CSSP-IS and IAT Level III certifications within specified windows.

Responsibilities

• Technical Governance & Leadership: serve as primary technical authority for 20+ cyber projects and define roadmap & architecture.
• Zero Trust Architecture Delivery: manage end-to-end lifecycle and teams around Zero Trust pillars.
• Agile ITSM Lifecycle Management: align cyber tool workflows with ITSM for continuous service improvement.
• Vendor & Procurement Strategy: evaluate, select, procure hardware and software; ensure interoperability.
• Testing & Validation Oversight: lead large-scale testing, vulnerability assessments, interoperability checks.
• Lifecycle Sustainment: maintain, patch, upgrade, and optimize tools across fabrics.
• Delivery Execution & Contract Awareness: align scope with contract structure; ensure traceability to requirements and controls.
• Team Leadership & Engineering Culture: mentor engineers, translate complex problems, present to executives.
