Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach or El Segundo, CA, seeks a Consulting Chief Engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary team in Survivability OU, delivering research and development projects that advance survivability technologies across RF, IR, visual, and acoustic domains.

You will define technical requirements, coordinate across projects, interface with customers and senior leadership, and ensure programs meet cost, schedule, and performance goals while adhering to engineering principles and

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 16 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master of Science in STEM with 14 years; OR a Ph.D. in a related STEM discipline with 10 years.
Experience in Air Vehicle Survivability, Low Observables design & analysis, Low Observables Materials, Testing, Modeling & Simulation, Mission Systems Integration, and Program/Cost & Schedule management.
Strong collaboration skills across multiple engineering specialties and with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical authority for the Survivability OU, providing guidance to IRAD and CRAD programs with OU leadership.
Act as the focal point for defining and controlling technical requirements and ensuring cross-project coordination.
Interface with the customer and company senior leadership to align programs with expectations.
Ensure programs adhere to engineering principles and company policies while meeting quality standards.
Oversee technical performance measures, participate in cost and schedule management for engineering tasks.
Chair the Technical Review Board (TRB) and mentor engineering staff in systems engineering practices.
