Job summary

Northrop Grumman in California seeks a Consulting Chief Engineer to lead the Survivability OU. You will guide a multidisciplinary team from concept to flight demonstrations, ensuring technical excellence and integration across domains.

Ideal candidates hold DoD level clearance, have deep survivability domain experience, and can travel up to 25% as needed in support of mission requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 16 years related professional/military experience; MS with 14 years; or PhD with 10 years.
• Air Vehicle Survivability, Low Observables design & analysis, low observables materials, testing & simulation.
• Cost and Schedule management of complex systems; cross-functional collaboration.
• Active US Government Secret or higher clearance; ability to obtain SAP and TS/SCI.
• Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for the Survivability OU and lead IRAD/CRAD programs.
• Define and control technical requirements; ensure vertical/horizontal integration.
• Interface with customer and company leadership; oversee technical performance measures.
• Participate in risk management and mentor technical contributors in systems engineering.
• Chair the Technical Review Board and ensure alignment with policy and quality standards.
