Job summary

Auria is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to provide technical leadership for a complex USSF ground framework. This hybrid role is based in the Washington, DC area and requires deep experience with satellite ground systems, cloud architectures, and systems integration.

Qualifications

• Current U.S. Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI; U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related technical discipline with 15+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Demonstrated experience as Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, Solution Architect, or Technical Director on a complex DoD/space program.
• Proven experience architecting and leading large-scale software-intensive, space ground, cloud, or system-of-systems environments.
• Strong understanding of satellite ground systems, mission operations, and open architecture concepts.
• Experience integrating independently developed systems and managing multi-vendor dependencies.
• Knowledge of MOSA, API/interface design, interoperability, data exchange, and modular integration principles.
• Experience with cloud-native DoD environments, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, RMF/ATO, and secure deployment environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the program's senior technical authority across architecture, systems engineering, software, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations.
• Lead development, evolution, and governance of the system architecture and technical baseline.
• Translate mission objectives into technical requirements, architecture decisions, and executable roadmaps.
• Direct the integration of government and commercial systems within a large-scale ground framework.
• Apply MOSA and open standards to enable interoperable, modular capabilities with minimal vendor lock-in.
• Govern interface control documents, architecture products, data flows, and technical standards.
