The role requires strong troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with experience in maintaining guest rooms and public spaces.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting hotel mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen, pool equipment, and HVAC systems.
• CPO and HVAC certification helpful.
• Basic computer skills; comfortable learning new technology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and modify programs for preventative maintenance of the property, grounds and equipment.
• Establish maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs to minimize disruption.
• Ensure prompt, professional service for guest maintenance requests.
• Maintain equipment inventories and coordinate with GM on orders.
• Monitor and test emergency and security systems and procedures.
• Perform daily inspections to ensure standards for property, rooms, grounds, and work areas.
• Keep records for plant and equipment maintenance and service.
• Prepare reports for Housekeeping and General Manager.
• Discuss maintenance status with GM/Owner/department heads.
• Ensure quality service and align with financial goals and day-to-day operations.
• Maintain safety measures and address hazards immediately.
• Provide training checklists for areas to be maintained.
• Outline procedures for emergencies (Person in Charge).

Job description

The Residence Inn in Springdale is looking for a Chief Maintenance Engineer to be responsible for ensuring proper operations maintenance service and repair of all equipment while supporting the goals of guest satisfaction, cost control and profitability. This individual is also responsible for overseeing and participating in the Preventative Maintenance program ensuring that all rooms and public space meet brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop,implement and modify programs for preventative maintenance of the property, grounds and equipment.
• Establish maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs and maintenance to minimize service and operational disruption.
• Ensure that guests and staff receive prompt, professional treatment and courteous service in response to their maintenance needs.
• Establish department equipment and inventory levels to be maintained and work with General Manager on ordering procedures.
• Maintain, monitor and test the hotel’s emergency and security systems, features and procedures.
• Perform daily inspections to ensure property, rooms, grounds and work areas are maintained according to standards
• Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
• Prepare reports as required by the Housekeeping Manager and General Manager.
• Discuss with GM / Owner / Department heads on maintenance status and inspection reports.
• Responsible for quality service, meeting/exceeding financial goals, short and long term planning and day-to-day operations.
• Safety and security measures. Report or correct any hazardous conditions observed immediately.
• Guidelines for training checklist of areas to be maintained.
• Procedures for emergencies (Person in Charge).

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of related work or hotel engineering/maintenance experience and able to perform mid-level troubleshooting of all hotel mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, pool equipment,and HVAC.
• Prior experience in exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
• CPO and HVAC Certification helpful.
• Possess basic computer skills and be comfortable learning and using technology.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to handle stressful situations, work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize well.

• Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• An independent thinker, able to make decisions based upon information gathered from appropriate resources.
