Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer to support the FBM program, guiding architecture, risk assessments, and engineering rigor across the life cycle of the Trident II LE2 Flight System. You will lead a cross-functional team, ensure margins for safety and producibility, and drive model-based engineering transformations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or equivalent experience.
• Experience with complex missile/launch vehicle systems; systems integration and testing.
• Electrical design and avionics architecture development experience.
• Proven leadership in systems design and development; able to drive closure on technical issues.
• Ability to apply Model Based Engineering and Agile methods; strong communication with leadership.
• US Citizenship with Secret clearance, ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for engineering and technology activities to meet milestones and objectives.
• Serve as primary technical authority interfacing with program management and customers.
• Lead a cross-functional engineering team to ensure robust, safe, and producible designs.
• Provide inputs for architecture and system performance including risk assessments and metrics.
• Guide technology roadmaps, model-based transformation, and verification activities.
• Mentor staff and ensure lessons learned and corrective actions are applied.
